Do they go ripping round here full tit for 24 hours to esstablish safe maximum rpm's continuous , handling peculiarities , durability etc etc . THESE DAYS . or isnt it allowed .

In 1985, Cycle World took some fresh-out-of-the-box Suzuki GSX-R750 and broke many world endurance records in Laredo, Texas (my hometown, and I was living there when it happened). They used what was then the Uniroyal Tire testing facility that has a 5-mile banked circle track. It's all here: CW -Suzuki Endurance Records

The track is now owned by Mercedes-Benz, but they have sold a sizeable chunk to a Laredo Commercial developer. Don't know if that will cut into the track or not. That would be a shame...
