Tariff Update

This level of information actually is insightful, helps offer a better understanding of the economic context and how it affects vendors. Thanks for sharing this.

Idiocy does not last forever - it just seems to. My first job after leaving school was with the Australian Customs Department then with the Commonwealth Analyst's Branch. Tariff investigations were a big thing. The costs of imposing the tariffs was probably more than the money which was collected. however they might have helped our manufacturing sector to survive, Chinese quality is probably better than Australian quality ever was.

The original poster is not bothering to report on the UK US trade deal made in June 2025. Even exchange.
Also, it was reconfirmed yesterday.

I've placed several orders from UK vendors in the last year, not been charged any tarrifs.

"Greer told CBS’s Face the Nation that the new levy was separate from agreements struck in the last nine months with about 20 countries around the world."

I would interpret this to mean 15% outside of preexisting trade agreement. In my opinion the overly broad 15% is purely reactionary, we will see what actually shakes out.

Which UK vendor have you placed orders with? I have placed orders with UK vendors and have been charged tariffs. The New York Times (yesterday's edition) states that China is a net winner and the UK is worse off after the Supreme Court ruling and the announcement of 15% tariffs. The Financial Times published a chart stating that the UK will see the highest increase in tariffs of all nations

RGMNorton, RKLeighton and Yambits.
As for your sources mentioned, same stated above.
Deception by omission. Factoids arranged to support an agenda.
IF you're interested in facts, you need to broaden the scope.

This is good advice. Went direct to the source and inquired with Yambits.
This is part of the response I received (not deceiving my omission I promise!)

"I can also confirm tariff fees will apply as the tariffs have been imposed on all values of items being received"

"would advise working on 10%-25% based on what has occurred since they were introduced"

So, YES tariffs exists.
Hope this can help someone.

The tariffs changed August 29, 2025. The Section 122 tariffs were applied 2/23/2026. The trade deal lowered the tariff on certain things (especially copper) to 25% where it is 40% for most countries. It absolutely did not eliminate tariffs from the UK. Standard tariffs on motorcycle parts, other than from four countries, are free and always have been but the tariffs by Presential Order are not standard tariffs and are MOST DEFINITELY not free from the UK.

Any shipping company in violation of US tariff laws and regulations won't be a shipper allowed to ship to the US for long and if a US company (e.g., UPS), will find themselves in Federal Court.

I fail to see the humor in intentionally misleading your fellow forum members.

Great first post. 🤡

That's true, I will apologize for that. Can't prove intentionality.
Have some humility here. It is okay to be mistaken.
So, using your logic, if you sent an e-mail to CHP, asking: "If I drive 80mph on I-5, will I get a ticket?"
"Yes, that is correct."

Think about it.

I see your logic yes, I think we are perhaps splitting hairs on semantics. My opinion.

Enjoy your afternoon, more snow next week ;)
