If this was planned then he is a bigger idiot then I thought (which is actually quite difficult)).. It’s a bloody expensive way of getting nations to negotiate- he could have simply given 90 days notice and achieved the same result. As it is, with his talk of all the world coming to kiss his arse and beg for a lower rate, he has really queered his pitch. China is not going to be in a hurry to meet him.
I'm sure you've become a successful multi-billionaire with businesses all over the world like President Trump built and dealing with all of the countries he has.
In the USA, we've wanted a businessman to run the country, as opposed to the corrupt self enriching swampers, for decades.
Since WW II, the USA totally rebuilt Europe to save it economically and they, in effect, became accustomed to the generosity of the USA without
getting much, if anything, in return. It's time to level out the playing field, we are 35+ trillion in debt and can no longer support other countries.
Forcing NATO members to finally pay what they committed to doing was a good first step. I could go on, but I am sad that some in this forum
chose to make political cheap shots that are detrimental to the mission and standards of this forum.

Please, keep the politics out of this forum, and this thread in particular.

I’ve read this entire thread , sorry I couldn’t find any cheap shots (untruths or straight up false statements ) most of those are coming from leader of the free world , President trump ….

It's easier to play the victim than to admit you've been wrong.

Your post is possibly the most political one in the whole thread.... :)
The ginormous deficit arose simply because the US government spends more that it earns.

To come back to the starting point, do you believe that trump's tariffs will be paid by the manufacturer / exporter or by the US customer?

I just wish someone would explain to all Americans that they must pay all of the Trump tariffs, in full.
I just watched " Fox and Friends" where they sat around and discussed Tariffs in a very confused way . One talker claimed that "Even though President Trump has said other countries will pay his tariffs, some reports are showing that Americans might have to pay almost half of them!!"
This revelation caused a lot of upset among the other hosts.
The other news hosts did not believe this to be correct, they still felt that other countries would be paying all of the Trump tariffs.

Of course American businesses and ultimately consumers will not pay " almost half" of the tariffs, they will pay 100 % of the tariffs!
Many do not understand that yet and they might never figure that out, if that Fox news program is any indication of the level of understanding.

The actual cost at the American consumer level will likely be more than 100% of the Tariff, as some businesses just work on a flat mark up from cost and tariffs are a cost.

Once everyone understands that, if they are still OK with it, then carry on!

Honest opinions expressed are interesting to read. Opinions expressed as some form of factual insight not so much.
But, IN MY OPINION this thread has devolved into a true contest of cut and paste, most always to reinforce ones disdain or admiration of an active political policy or the politicians overseeing it.

It is also interesting to note that often the most vocal, many with thousands of posts and years of participation are the same ones who have yet to contribute one single dime to support the forum. Some of whom never show up on bike discussions but are always in the middle of it in such threads as this one.
Interesting how that consistently comes about....
