I am painting the tank and side panels on my commando. Anyone have suggestions on using decals or having then painted on? If using the decals/stickers. Where should I look to buy them to get correct lettering and style.

There are several painting threads here with details of using the vinyl decals as masks, to peel off and leave the decal painted on.
Fleabay is full of vinyl decal suppliers. Oddly, the Indian made ones are way more $$ than genuine, which is bizarre.
If you want a factory looking finish, research well the original scheme, including decal color and size.
750 models generally didn't have pinstripes. (except the black'n'gold d-shaped scheme of some years).

A lot of discussion too of only applying the decals with the tank and sidecovers fitted to the bike - or the decals will look uphill or downhill.
They should be horizontal...

If you're looking for the 750 'S' I got some original style OB decals and they collect dust like crazy. I'd go for new vinyl ones. They're available lots of places. Steadfast has the tank ones that have a larger gold outline which shows up nicely. I got a set from NZ if you really need a contact, but I think they're available lots of places. Look at the original brochures to make sure you get them placed right and the correct colors.
