So I got the ignition dialed in and I thought id go ride. Im tooling along at about 75 and come up to a stop sign. Now im 6' 4" and have clubman bars (no rearsets yet) and ride with my feet on the pillions. I move my feet up and my right foot is slipping all over the foot peg. Whaaat the....???
Look down and my boot and leathers are soaked with oil. Pull over and find I've blown the rocker feed line. Damn! Luckily I had my trusty Tijuana toothpick and a zip tie. Got her patched up and slip slid my way home leaving a drippy trail. Parked her in the weed patch beside the barn to drip. Guess I know what im doing tomorrow! Oh, the joys of Nortonhood!

Yep, I don't leave home w/o wire and zip tie and tunna cans for the first 1000 miles shake downs. Commandos are about as organic a mechanical experience there is. Wires also means the insulated kind. Prolly all them hot clutch drop wheelies shaking out weaknesses. If ya don't quit the fork seals will wet ya too : )

Well, I've been doing pretty good at trying to replace all the wore out stuff prior to failure. Forks are next on the list as soon as I get my package from john. All new stuff up there. I knew the lines were on last legs and had planned on replacing them but was distracted by boyertastrophy last week. At least I know my oil pressure is good!!!

The rocker feed is at full big end pressure, when it blows you reduce the oil pressure at the big ends so replace with high pressure hose, I use stainless braided line as it can rub against several points on its run and spring leaks.

My knife isn't the crocodile dundee variety. Its the not so legal spring assist opening type, if you catch my drift.

i grew up in Miami when segregation hit hi schools and the 2nd rather undesirable mass of Cubans landed all in Dade County. Had to draw 1st blood at age 7, so never w/o a one hander since. Not much worry until out numbering ya encounters. Got some edged items I'm trying to figure out uses and mounts for on Peel. Would sure like to split a deer's mass rather than full impacts. Swords, bayonets, cross cut saws, plow shares etc.

Gotta get you some buzz saws that pop out the front like speed racer!

I used to live in a city here called Stockton. Not the best place. I think its on the top 10 most miserable places to live list. Anyway, you never knew what was gonna go down at a bar, so I carried. Never had to actully use it, but flashed it more than once. Now resides in the tool bag for occasions like last night.
