I've refrained a few months from peeking at the photo's of your bikes as it reflects so badly on Wes and me. Did today to get floored again on the shear numbers of beauties brought back to us. Any who I who is not looking for another Commando till a bunch of other priority project done come across unwanted Commandos some what routinely. There's an intact storage rust worn 750 50 miles from me that could be snagged for <3000 and saw 3 more at Ohio fair grounds, 2 Combats and early 850 from 2500 to 4000 starting bids. I know of about half a dozen Commando beside Wes and mine in N.W Arkansas in restored or unrestored shape but not active with them. About none of the Norton racers builders and event attendees on Commandos have a presence in online forums. So taking stock it seems there are more Commando alive now than ever before and no end in sight. Dozens of thousands of em going and similar numbers awaiting their turn. Any quesimates of the restored vs unrestored remains? Are they still being created out of fractal vacuum energy?

Not around here! There's rumors of one within 15 miles of me, but I've never seen another in my valley. I'm thinking of moving; how's the real estate market in your part of the Norton-rich world? I think it'd be a hoot to see other Nortons cruising around the back roads.

Let me re state the subject, Are there more restored roadworthy Commando's being lovingly attended to or are there more unrestored waiting to be?

Nate I've had more than one 70's yr old that have traveled the world over seeking the best there is, tell me they don't know of a more liveable place than the Ozark Highlands/Plateau/Mt's, one of the few places all the waters flow north. I did pick where I landed out of MegaTropolis but I never looked for Nortons they found me. I was flabbergasted to see a '71 parked by my office a few weeks after getting 'a 72 instead of a mower, but the dude hardly nodded at me before roaring off leaving me kind of hollow feeling. Like taming a wild animal Wes is now a best buddy that's connected to many vintage collectors so keeps me informed on known restored Commando's and others he hears of in striking distance. The 1st week [7 crashes] the locals invited me on camp out and said they recognized me coming by the sound as the fastest bike [handling wise in the Mt hwys] in their crowd was a '71 rat the fella lived on it with all the money spend on insides. I get to meet or ride with out of state Commando pilots out the blue every now plus the cream of the crop of various clubs of every sort of motorized joy machines. Its rather rural so making a living is tricky or travel wearing. Until ya been here its hard to understand all its features ya missing out on. Come on out and jerk fishes faces off, blow deer away or just get dry month grinning to grimacing at all the twists and turns or chugging some 'shine.
