The '70 Commando has a single bulb tail light. I have been running a Halogen 1157 because it is much brighter than the standard bulb. I see that some of the new LEDs bulbs claim to be less directional ( i.e. you can see them from the side) than the first ones. Is that so ? What are you running and what has your experience been ?

Thanks

Greg

The early LED replacement 'bulbs were flat mounted LEDs that didn't not stick up much so light only projected straight out which is fine for side markers on flush tail light on cars but now LED blubs have them clustered on a stalk so light can shine side ways as well as straight back. LED diode polarity is the main buggaboo to find LED replacements. Here's a neat DIY route. Can google < LED bulbs images> to see variety and tag source page to find what to order. Bublsthatlastforever has a kit for LED's singles and runing lights and brake light to see how they are clustered on flat plates that work quite well and very tough surviving LED crushing crashes the remainers still worked brighter than filiment. Main weakness of LED's is the tiny wiring breaking from vibes.
