For more of the story: I’m taking a one month road trip across the country. I started out on the first of June and my first stop was near San Francisco.
I helped sort out a friend’s bikes including this Fastback. The primary had been opened some 25 years ago and I at least got it put back together although the clutch still needs some work. At least I know all the parts are there.
From there I went to Johnson Valley (south of Barstow, CA) to find Bronco Knoll.
After Johnson Valley I spent the night outside of Vegas not far from Area 51.

Then it was up to Hurricane/Sand Hollow in SW Utah.
I got a little off roading in including seeing some dinosaur tracks.

So far I’d been by myself but my brother was in Utah for the Vintage 1000. It’s a thousand mile ride from SLC to Moab, mostly off road. And he did it on a 1965 BSA Lightning Rocket.
One of the guys after the event went around putting graffiti on some of the bikes
He and his bike had been taken to SLC by the company putting on the ride. So instead of riding back I picked him up and we went back to Moab.
So more 4x4 trails in Moab (Fins & Things and Hell’s Revenge) before camping on the edge of a cliff at Porcupine Rim. Don’t sleepwalk as it’s a good 1000 ft drop.

Once we got done scaring ourselves of the off road trails in Utah it was over to Colorado. We spent the night in Cortez (Retro Inn, recommended!) it was in for a quick visit with Matt @cNw I’m ready to move to Colorado but I’m not sure Matt would put up with me showing up every day.
Our next waypoint was the town of Silverton and the start of the Alpine Loop. The higher pass was still closed so we took Cinnamon Pass, the summit was 12,640 ft. The roads are pretty rough so you’re not taking mom’s SUV.
We camped at an alpine lake that night. And that brings us to the pictures that @Jerry Doe posted as we passed through Denver on the way to Nebraska.

In Nebraska we visited with family for a few days. I hadn’t been there in 20 yrs. We got a tour of the farmland and saw some of the equipment they use.
We’re almost to the National Motorcycle Museum in Iowa. It’s closing in September so this is the last chance to see it.
I’ll try to update more later on the return trip to Oregon.

Dave stopped in for the evening on Saturday, we had BBQ at place near the house, then he treated us to some off-road Bronco videos. This morning we headed out to the ranch.
Between my house and the ranch, in Liberty Hill, is what was a cool car shop (up until very recently, they sold the place). I smelled photo-op...
A little further down, Dave stopped to gas up, and another photo-op appeared in the adjacent parking lot...
Finally at the ranch, we got a shot of a Bronco and a Bronco-
Them black critters is 100% Angus Beef "on the hoof"

It was great meeting Paul in person! It was great seeing the bikes I'd only seen in pictures. And I can't thank him enough for the hospitality.
This thread over on the Bronco forum is probably the most extensive documentation of the trip.
To recap it was the entire month of June and it was a bit over 9k miles in total.
