Swinging arm dimension at wheel

Hi, does any one know the width of the swinging arm where the wheel fits ?. I am restoreing the bike and since it has come back from being coated i cannot get the rear wheel spacer to fit.I have double checked everything,and have stripped the rear end many times in the past so need to check the width before i go any further !. Thank's Pete.

My unbraced pre-Mark III swingarm off the bike measures 8 1/4 inches consistently across the slotted area through which the axle would be moved to adjust for chain tension

Thank's, for the answer,fogot to mention mine is a mk11A, wonder if they are the sane width ?.

The rear drum wheel/spacer assembly was the same from 1971 to '74 so there wouldn't seem to be any logical reason for a change of swinging arm width.
