06-0453 is the long spindle for the removable end-cap assembly. It would overhang the shorter bushes and take up the space intended for the felt discs and the welch plugs because the pivots are machined to accommodate the welch plugs which locate against the machined internal shoulder so reducing the available width for the spindle.

As usual, you are correct. I just checked my order invoice and it was 06-4699. I had thought I ordered them all at once, but it looks like I ordered the spindle after the bushes and felts for some reason. Edited my post to correct.

This one already has a set screw. But I don't think it's big enough for our purposes.

While the collars might be $15ea or so (I don't know what size is needed off the top of my head) remember that McMaster is going to get you on shipping. And the McMaster ones are no where as nice as the NYCNorton ones. At all. Not that you can see them.

I haven't been able to purchase directly from McMaster or Grainger.
There is always a hurdle of some sort.
I think it was minimum order size for Grainger , can't recall the issue with McMaster.
I have been able to get McMaster items thru a local tractor dealership. The cost is always high with the retail markup.

McMaster will not ship to our fine Country. So you must use a US addy. No longer a biggie for me but it was for last 3 yrs.
I think I once tried to get something from Grainger, but they required a business account creation before they would provide a price quote so I went elsewhere.

I have a p.o. box in Lynden, so best of both worlds I guess. Or maybe the worst, I'm not sure.
It's handy with US purchases as many US companies and even Ebayers will not ship to Canada.
If they do, the shipping is exorbitant.
When Covid hit and the border was closed, I had a $200 parts order trapped at the P.O. box in Lynden. Normally I drive down in about 10 minutes including the border stop then pay zero duty or taxes to bring items under $200 back home.
The thru border UPS shipping from Lynden for the $200 order cost about $250!

Good morning swooshdave,
I did my swingarm last year. Bought a new spindle from RGM (with flat sides on the rear and a central hole on top).
I purchased the clamps for the Kegler modification from Holland Norton Works.

I can warmly recommend as recommended from Norman White to use the later seal assy from the MK3: #06.5227. they are way better then the o-rings.
i put a hollow screw in top center hole and put a clear hose on it....for a extra reservoir EP140...and as visible controll when its time to fill up

Any bearing retailer will have the collars in various sizes. I think I paid $15.00 CDN for a pair about 2 years ago. They do have to be drilled and tapped for a set screw but that is a relatively simple job
