Swingarm help

What happened to the potting material on your alternator stator? It looks like it belongs on an old Atlas or P11. Does it charge OK? These were notorious for breaking windings.

Now that you have the swingarm out, be sure to check the spindle fit in the cradle. Any looseness should be taken care of now before you powdercoat the cradle. A little movement at the spindle results in significant movement at the rear wheel.

Just a heads up if you want to coat your stator windings. The black coating on my Triumph stator was falling off and just laying in the primary. I used the stuff they sell to coat tool handles with to repair it. I had a tin of it that I got from Harbor Freight I believe it was. Worked very well.

The stator is actually new.. I picked it up from a Norton/Triumph/BSA guy in Philadelphia who had a local machine shop rewind about 20 of them. They have a clear coat over the entire thing. Works very well.
