Swapping megas for short opens - any tips?

So I think I'm going to take the plunge and swap my megas for short opens (the megas are too antisocial and I can't find anywhere to make some baffles). I have the manual which looks very comprehensive. Just wondered if there's anything I need to be aware of? I'm fitting the short opens with the decat unit. The guy I spoke to at SCS-Delta said the maps weren't significantly different between the pipes, so wasn't planning on trying to a remap. I have the Omex ECU anyway so that would be pretty tricky to do as I understand it, and I am assuming the Omex maps aren't significantly different either. Cheers.

Bikes are supposed to be loud and antisocial. I love my open megaphones. But this is also my favorite tee shirt.

I sent GLB some images and measurements of a set of baffles....maybe print those off from him and try your local machine shops again. At least it'll give them some guidance

Your still going to need very good earplugs!

I have a set of simple baffles from ebay which sit where the mega narrows. Initially I did not put any baffle wrap on them and they are still very loud I have just wrapped them (yesterday) but as its pissing down here i havent dragged it out the garage to check on the volume. If that doesn't work I have already approached a local machine shop and have Stu's measurements and will happily provide them to anyone that wants. (See below) I also use Ultimate Ear earplugs which are a custom fit. Well worth the money https://ultimateear.com

They're still not shy, but the baffles certainly tone them down to a more acceptable level. I cant post pictures on here though, sorry.

Edit: cheers Graham....we must have replied at the same time there

Cheers. How did you secure the baffles in the exhaust? I'd be interested to hear how it runs with the wrap

Its a small screw fitment. I drilled through the bottom of the exhaust to locate it. I should be able to fit them this weekend and I will measure the decibel level before and after. You will be able to see them if you are at Donington in a few weeks
