Sustainability

If you like to think of the bike as a sort of marriage, where you get used to, and even start appreciating the weird sides about the bike after a while when you are getting to know it. You will enjoy every euro (or dollar, pound, etc) you spent on it.

On the other hand... if you want a perfect driving bike, that looks oke and 'just' does what you say... you will regret your purchase. Like Der says... I can tell you 100 negative stories about my 961, and 1 positive one. I still love it and i won't sell it ;-)

But i do hope, to stay on topic, that parts supply will be sorted in the future. Maybe some aftermarket parts wouldn't hurt too. For the price of a countershaft sprocket i can buy a whole chain kit for another bike.

I could post in my sad thread, but since we're on the subject....Its a month now and I'm still waiting for my detente spring and gaskets. I really chewed into my dealer and Dan Van Epps over this. Probably undeserving on their part since its Norton that's dicking us around. You just can't install what you don't have, so I think I might owe the service dept. an apology. New York State has a lemon law stating if you don't receive a vehicle in for service back in 30 days, you get refunded should you demand it. I'm considering it but really don't want to go that route. Like I said, I do love the bike. MEANWHILE......I bought this. Picking it up on Sunday.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triumph-Bonnevi ... SA:US:1120 It's identical to my current Bonnie that I was quoted 10 grand for a restoration, so I'm selling that for 3500 and replacing it with this. Mine is in clean original condition, but I want restored and this was more cost effective.

Ok. My parts are in. Scrub all the bitching and moaning I've done for the past month. This little cry baby is finally looking on the bright side. Man, I can't wait to tear up some twisty roads. I can't wait for the weather to cool off so this little beast will run like a wild mustang in the winter. Life is getting a little brighter. I hope the repair goes well and I'll be out of the woods for a while.

Looks like you've made some friends for life at your dealers, kinda like calling the waiter a dipshit before he brings your food!

Great looking T140

I'd heard from troubled owners that after taking this route their bike was fixed very soon after. Mine was back there six weeks while whilst work was being done then due to a balls up on their part I was told it could take another two weeks,it went against the grain for me but I asked direct questions to them on twitter, my bike was then ready to collect 2 days later.

It is pretty bad form(from the dealer/Norton) if you have to kick up shit to get decent service for your new bike, just not what you would expect at all after listening to all the sales hype!

As a footnote, I read recently in one of Stewart Garners interviews he stated that he does not read forums of follow social media, a bit strange comment as one so PR savy either that or as Jack would say " he can't handle the truth".

These dealers have heard it all before. Who on earth drops over 20 grand on a new bike to let it sit in a shop for months without getting frustrated? They'll get over it. This dealer only sells exotics and high end eurobikes aside from the the Triumphs which arent that tempermental nor as exciting as the Ducs, MVs, Apes and some of the Beemers. They're used to getting chewed out.

Correct, any dealer that sells Italian bikes is used to angry customers....
