Does anyone here run a 110/90V18 Avon Super Venom AM18 on thier Commando? If so do you have any comments on fit (ie: do you need to offset rim) and performance.

Thanks!

Gary

I have them on my Norton featherlastic, and they are great. Don't have a feel for their longevity though.

Gary,
I have one on my 72 with the wheel centered to hub.
When I fill it to recommended pressure it just rubs the left side of swing arm. It looks like a offsetting the rim a 1/4" would do the trick and is on my long list of TO DOs ...

I hear Midnite calling my name now, got run..
Good luck Chris

Hmmmmm. I was just about to buy a 120/90v/18 Bridgestone Battlaxe for the rear of My MkIII and I hope that it will fit. Are the swingarms on MkIII's slightly wider than on your '72?

I have a 110/90 18 Super Venom on a 2.5" rim in the back of my MkIII. It sits really nicely and has no contact problems.

I like it :D

Whether you think they last long enough is a bit of a personal question. They "go off" as quickly as any other tyre. 400 or 500 miles of motorway is enough to make them feel second hand but that seems to be true of most tyres.

If you like to drag the last 10 miles out of a tyre then there are certainly others which will last longer before you're down to whatever legal limit you're subjected to.
