Hey all, so I just got back from being away for the Army for 7 months and first day back i decided to take the Norton outta storage, after topping of new fluids it started up second try and sounded great, I took it out for about a 15 minute ride and all was going well until it just completely died, no electrical power. The battery is fully charged. I took of the side cover and inspected the battery and the fuse about an inch off the battery terminal on the negative wire was fired and the plastic housing somewhat melted...any ideas what shortage could of cause this??? I was maybe thinking there could be some dirt or dust in the ignition housing but im not really sure and trust me the bike was wrapped up in storage not much dust or dirt could get to it if at all.. seeing if anyone has any opinions before i start investigating further, gotta leave again in less then two weeks would love to get it back on the road a final time before I go back to hell... thanks all

Weak spring in the fuse holder is a common problem. Replace the fuse holder completely.

I've two Combat and both have more than once died d/t faults in the glass fuse itself or the holder. Highly recommend to replace with automotive blade type.

Sounds like you need to get a length of wire with a light bulb in it , and check continuity here & there . Or a multi meter .

Still C.B. ignition . ? the problem with electronic ign. is sticking a screwdriver in it , or a length of wire , isnt a good idea , to get you home .

Has any of the covers / tank , been of . Suspect a pinched / crushed wire . Maybe .

Might pay to keep petrol clear & have a extingusher handy , if youre trying to make smoke .
