Hey everybody!!

By the way, thanks for all the great info on elec ignitions a stretch back!

Just wondering how some of you may have had to deal with getting the bearings out of the steering head.
74 850 commando.
Following instructions very carfully , using the inner spacer tube against the inner race of the bottom bearing.
It is STUCK!
Won't work the other way around trying to knock the top one out either. I can see some rust, and have had
penetrating oil sitting on them for awhile.
That spacer tube is taking a whupping too( going to have to touch that up some)

I appreciate any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks
Chester

It takes some fiddling with a thin screwdriver and hammer to get it to bump out of the way enough to get a proper drift on the inner race of the lower bearing where half a few mighty smacks with a mallet will set it free. Then, repeat the process from an Australian or New Zealand perspective (down under).
