Strange Commando

Strange Commando

That insanely wonderful to see but who'd want one with a 16" rear end but me too!
I like the oil can out over swingarm too, may have to steal the place for Peel later. Bet its more fun than a barrel of monkeys to ride and listen to the sucking sound of big ass throats.

@mikegray
I think the most stupid reason anyone can give for doing anything is 'because I can' - it really shits me. As far as this commando is concerned - 'what ever blows you hair back ! ', but what a waste of a good bike ?

Aw come on dudes its a hoot to see the lengths some go to weather its realistic or something you'd want at home. Its said men's only way to create instead of giving birth is make something, whether its useless dangerous or other wise. Spice of Life to me. This one does not strike me as silly but a terror to hang on to pulling wheelies at end of shifts so the dual damper take the tank slap tendency out but would make twisties a lot of work.

Snatched off the youtube special thread and may not find again except search in forum for a Strange Commando.

What a plumbing nightmare. Not to mention a total collaboration of mental insanity. So many things not right. 2 steering dampeners, really. Those shocks are way too soft. And on and on..

agree 100 % , sadly you see it all the time from the "custom shops", especially here in the US and a few knuckle heads that think they know more than the other guys simply because they can bend/weld a piece of metal

and believe me Snorton74, the only thing this guys is "laying" is rosie palm

Strange, yes, weird, yes, no rhyme or reason for most all of these "mods"? Yes! But, still more functional than a lot of choppers I see on the road. I meant to say I see for sale on Craigslist, not "on the road".

It gives him something to do while he's busy not getting laid.

I wonder if his missus/girlfriend is as ugly as the bike? Maybe he created it to avoid getting laid!

At least he fixed the exhaust pipe holding method for good. Many details, most are gaudy, but some are worth copying.

to take one of the most subtly beautiful bikes ever made and turn it into that thing is awful. I'm not a purist, i love modifying things...but wow, that is ugly. From the weird rear fender, to the huge seat/fender gap, to the steering dampers, to the two horns?? on the front of the frame, that horrible exhaust, the tracker style front fender looking out of place, the insane fueling.....worst ABORTIONORTON i've ever seen.

All I can say is weird. Everyone to his own. It takes all kinds. I'm not being critical or anything of course.

I'd like to know the object of those raised carbs? Is that important? And what about all those fuel lines, can you imagine if one came off or broke what the fire would be like? Of course that's never happened.

Maybe we can get Capt. Janeway to recalibrate the flux generator.

You guys are being too hard just because he forgot the KISS principle  And don't be too hard on the seller, he bought it like that... OTOH, he must have liked it because he bought it

Tunnel rams. Reminds me of the old Ramchargers "high and mighty" but ............ How do you get the petrol up there? Must be a fuel pump on board. One would have to think a steaight line unit. Tom

if ya notice the past and many current racers they have very extended intake tracks that indeed add some inertial mass ram and sonic compress wave boosting not to mention the size of the buggers feeding a Combat out dragster exhausts. That is not a bad set up silly as it may look unless used to old tractors with carbs on stalks. If I got a runner like that why the hell not just keep it a hot rod conversation piece. I'd put little squaty air scoops on mine of course.

Next someone will bitch about the anti-sump valve w/o a failsafe, so definitely a thinking man's ride, so far. I just strike it up that there is no other model of motorcycle in history that has had more extreme and unusual things tried with that so lovely cocky engine profile and sound.

I'm girding myself for remarks on the snorkle hanging off side like a Harley on Peel.
