I am wondering about the condition of the stator that came with the basket case. Short of waiting to see the voltage output (or not) I figure a good way to at least know it will make mobile electrons is to take a resistance reading of the windings.
I've been trying to find a spec for this resistance value but no luck.
Does anyone know what it should be?

Thanks,

Jeff

Fairly low ohms, but I don't know what, probably less than 5 Ω. Other thing you can check for is a short from the stator wires to ground, that will kill it if shorted. I looked through my Lucas test book and it only tests the stator output running with a resistance, like 1 Ω.

I get 0.2-0.3 ohms on the stator on my 1975 850 Mark III.
