The Mk3 I am building is slowly edging toward completion. Having a problem sorting out a solenoid. I ended up buying a brand new AN one, but when I tested it on the bench by simply connecting 12volts across the 2 small terminals, nothing happened, no click at all. I took it back to Murray at Cyclecraft Engineering, and he instantly swapped it for another brand new one. Trying the same thing and nothing....Before I fall into despair am I missing something?
I cant believe that 2 new duds in a row, so operator error is more likely..
Any advice gladly received!

With the standard Prestolite solenoid you would connect between the 'switch' (S) terminal and the solenoid body (well, the metal bracket plate because the body is plastic) as it's 'case earth' (the AN solenoid should therefore be the same).

The other ('I') terminal is the ballast bypass. (Not used if electronic ignition is fitted)

Thanks, as I suspected, cause was a faulty operator not solenoid!

Do you know the NAPA part #?
