Iam restoring a 1974 mk2a commando. Does anyone know where I can purchase the spoke nipples only. The spokes are in fine condition with the original coating in good shape. Thanks Hershey

The usual "go to" place in the US would be: https://www.buchananspokes.com/

1974 mk2a commando.

If this particular "Mk2A" has a Dunlop MC286 rear rim then the spoke nipples are likely to be 9 SWG x .300" (same as the front *non*-disc side nipples, part 063207) as listed in the Mk2/2A parts supplement...

...not the usual 10 SWG x .250" rear drum wheel nipples for the Dunlop MB41 rim.
Unfortunately, AN either doesn't know this or can't be bothered to include the information.

Some Mk2/2As had a Jones rear rim instead of Dunlop in which case I think the nipples are likely to be the normal 10 SWG x .250".

*(*Disc*-side nipples are 8 SWG x .300", AN part 06.2595)

GregM can help here. No matter who lend an ear to Les' point on rim part number and existing spoke it can be a Tower of Babel moment.

I looked on my front rim and it is a Dunlop WM2-19 So it should take the 8 swg 300 nipples. Let me know if this is correct. Thanks Hershey

If original, then your front disc rim should be stamped MC275.

If so, then the disc-side spokes should be 8 SWG and nipples (x20) should be 8 SWG x .300"...

... 9 SWG spokes and 9 SWG x .300 (x20) nipples on the opposite side of the wheel to the disc.

I just looked and the rim is stamped MC275 so I will need 8gx300 on the disc side and 9gx300 on the opposite side. Is this correct? Thanks Hershey

Yes, if you measure the (unthreaded section) spoke diameters then the original x20 disc-side spokes should be (approximately) .160" (8SWG) and the opposite x20 should be .144" (9SWG).

SWG = (British) Standard Wire Gauge.
