Very likely you can't spin the rear wheel fast enough for the speedo to register/show anything. I don't think I can make mine work at all by hand at the rear wheel and it works within 3mph according to local speed trap thingies

Well you can certainly take off the speedo end and watch the center cable when you turn the rear wheel and see if it even turns. You can even grab the center cable at the speedo end and see that it's not skipping or not holding up to resistance.

Other thing is to drive the gearbox end with a drill and watch the speedo, but you run the risk of it not being engaged correctly.

I think Piero's got a cable or gearbox problem.

Ciao Piero and All,

I had about the same problem which came from the fact that the square end of the cable connected to the rearwheel was not long enough to be driven by the speedo "gearbox".
Everything looked OK when not connected to the rearwheel but didn't work once fitted.

I fixed it by shortening a bit the cable housing. From my memory, there should be about 10 to 12 millimeters of cable protruding out of the housing at the rear wheel end.

Hope it helps.

Laurent
