'Just got an email from Andrew at SparkBright telling me that he had some delivery issues over the last couple of months, but that it's been resolved. There's been a lot of interest lately with electrical upgrades, and this concern came up from one of the members having problems with getting one. Let's hope that's all over, as the Eclipse I put on mine last year has been a fantastic addition. http://www.sparkbright.co.uk/sparkright ... onitor.php

I have one as well and love it. I installed a 3 phase and removed the zeners and rectifier but just disconnected the assimilator. It wasn't worth the 3oz to remove it.

I just ordered one of these voltage monitors (Eclipse 5) from Andrew at Sparkbright last week. I have one made by Signal Dynamics in there now but I like to play with these things and this Sparkbright one doesn't have an extra electronics box. I used the yellow turn signal indicator lens for this because there are no turnsignals. It took a second email to get a response but now all good.

I still like the red warning light (because I'm used to it after 40+ years) but eliminated the assimilator when I went to the Podtronics 3 phase regulator. I'm using a simple DC voltage monitor (Model LVLD - only on/off) from AO Services now but if the battery is fully charged sometimes it won't come on when the key is turned on. Just a little annoying that's all.

I was one of those who ordered and waited almost two months for it to ship.
Finally gave up and ordered one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190401283689
They shipped the same day that I ordered it. Has not arrived yet so cannot give an opinion, but they have sold lots of them.
It's good to have choices.

Agreed. That Gammatronix looks like it'd be a comparable alternative. Please let us know how it works for you (once it arrives...)

I've been using the gammatronix unit for a couple of months now on my 74 Roadster.Works great! I've currently got it programmed to monitor battery voltage, the led changes from red to amber to green showing a full charge.I took out the parking lamp switch in the headlamp and mounted it there.A perfect fit -FWIW--Mike.

I've been using a couple of those same Gammatronix monitors on various bikes for more than three years.
They could do with being a bit brighter in strong sunlight but that would be my only criticism.

Will a SparkBright, or eBay special fit the MKIII's dash board and look stock? If yes what size?
And I found this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321899359423?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

No, at least not that particular item without modification, as the MkIII (Pistor & Kronert) warning lights are smaller diameter than the usual Lucas type warning lamps fitted to pre-MkIII Commandos (and various other British motorcycles).

Had the Gammatronix installed for a few rides now.
Works fine - color is a bit washed out in direct sunlight but still quite nice.
Happy with it and nice to know battery getting a charge from alternator over about 2000 RPM.

When I installed a battery voltage monitor I was able to find these with a clear lens
https://www.ronfrancis.com/prodinfo.asp?number=DB-32

I gutted it out and was able to slide the LED bulb from the monitor into the shell. It was hard to tell the difference from stock. Unfortunately I can not find a source for the bulbs right now. I have since removed it and went back to the red idiot light and a CoolCat solid state assmilator. When I get a chance I will see if I can find the extra bulbs and battery monitor in my garage. I am away from home at the moment.

I had a gammatronix one about three years ago. It lasted about 4 -5 months and quit, since fitted a digital voltage meter bastardised from a plug in cigarette lighter one. No need to try and remember what colour/flashing combo means what

AOSERVICES has a BSM that will replace the assimilator which is easy to fit comes with bezel and looks to have a bit more quality than the Gammatronix part. I have been using one for years and has proven totally reliable.

i have 4 of the gammatronixlimited charge monitors in bikes, a few for over 2 years and they work well and have an excellent guarantee/return policy - i had one where the bezel retainer ring things brake and they replaced it no questions asked - i also have one of there little electronic ignition in my 42 harley to help the point system out a bit and it made the bike run way better!

highly recommended
