Anyone know where I can get a cranked kickstarter, type that used to be fitted to desert sled bikes and trials etc, has a knuckle at the bottom, then the pedal swings out and is sort of S shaped to clear pegs etc.
Sammy Miller in UK used to sell them , but no more.
Classic Bike guide this month has a Vee twin special with a Norton gearbox equipped with exactly what I'm after.

Ditto Sam

Got mine in 2004 from Terry unplated so that I could bend it to suit????? Jesus! I would need an oxy accetalene torch to get anywhere with it. Sammy sold the same thing for a good 25% more. There is another source as I got another about 4/5 years ago that was chromed. I cant remember the name but will have a pick through my notes.

all the best Chris

Hi.
The one on my dad´s Tiger Cub Trial bike is bend and that´s a 200cc with 7:1 comp. it´s a Terry Weedy. I think RGM has one with a T160 style kickstarter.

Hi Sam,
I assume you've seen that RGM do a T160 style for Nortons? Is that no good for you?

Thanks for replies fellas,
Chris, see if you can find that other supplier if you could please. I remember talking to Terry Weedy a few years ago at Stafford, but had forgot his name. I have used 3 of these pedals from Miller on two Rob Norths and my T140 scrambler and they haven't bent yet (famous last words !)
I don't like the T160 type from RGM .
I'm after slimming down the rearsets of both Commandos (Hyde) and will probably use one of the small Brembo type rear master cyls and remote reservoir.
Chris/Nigel Hope to see you both this year at Beezumph at least.

Hi , thanks for the link, I too had tried the RGM one, but it does not fit my gear linkage , so I will try that one (the road one), I suppose that the one Norvil have on his web site are the same.......
In fact I will need a real proddie racer item, but Andover does not make them , soon as said Joe , but not now!
But I will ask to Terry the offset , before ordering , betwween the knuckle and the arm, or if someone had it , welcome to post it, just a question Chris said they are pretty hard , and Kommando said they were soft .........!

Chris said they are pretty hard , and Kommando said they were soft .........!

I have seen posts saying they were soft and bent but as it was within a short period and have seen no more I am assuming it was a batch problem and they are currently ok. But it does need checking if only by asking Terry directly.
