My front MC was sleeved to 13 mm some years ago and has just started leaking. Shop was in CT and sadly closed due health issues so I don't know the origin of the kit/parts used. Does most everyone who sleeved them us the same internals? If so, got a source?

Thanks!

Oh boy, the pictures of RGM and AN pistons are different.

Anyone know what the Clubman Racing exchange units used? I miss Frank.

Looking back at some old threads, it seems they used RGM kits. There is a picture of one here..

If you have the plunger piece (for want of a better word) shown to the left of the rubber boot, that would confirm it.

In my MC the piston is retained by a block secured by two 3/32" allen/grub screws. The block seems to be attached to a metal retainer that's in a groove machined in the barrel. There's no dust boot. I'm trying to have the new parts in hand before disassembling it.

Found a YouTube video of Fair Spares New England installing the kit in my MC. I'm actually in New England so it's probably all going to work out.

Thanks all.

Looking at the video it looks like o rings, not cups, so I should be able to measure it up and get an EDPM from McMaster Carr. Anyone done it and have the dash number?

I don’t like to criticize, but that has to be one of the worst instructional videos I’ve ever seen.

Anyway, I’m sure Fair Spares can advise on replacement seals. I’d be very, very surprised if it’s just o-rings on the piston though.

Yeah, on closer look it’s probably a cup on the end and o ring on the piston.

@JimNH you may want to read this thread ( well the beginning anyway)

I’m that thread the picture @concours posted looks like mine. Sad that the original vendor is not forthcoming with parts for maintenance.
Sadly, Al Miles has passed. RIP
😞

But, Chris ( @CH53MechWest ) at Fair Spares New England bought his stock, and has since supplied me with the rubber parts to refresh my sleeved master.

A GREAT vendor for Norton parts!

Excellent! I see the area code is for western Massachusetts.
