This morning it is taking almost 30 seconds for the site to load after selecting the bookmark. Also, once on, it is taking nearly 20 seconds to go from selecting a "reply" until the complete reply screen comes up and I can enter anything. Until now the site came up within a couple of seconds as was switching between threads/reply, etc. All other websites are normal response-wise so I don't think it's my computer or server. Has there been a change that may have caused this?

There was something implimented yesterday, due to hacker activity. I don't know how perminant it is or if it will get better over time.

Seems normal here, but I did get an 500 Internal Server Error just now.

Maybe it's slow because you're posting from Mexico and there is now some software running to make sure you're not a hacker, Mike!

Debby...That could be, I guess. It just took 31 seconds to get on the site from another and 27 seconds from hitting "reply" to being able to reply. I hope that will change because I am entirely too busy to wait that long! Right now I am confronted with tasks like...well, there's uh...hmmm. Oh yeah, I have to...let's see...I know there's something. Shoot - let me think about it and I'll get back to you. But that will take at least 30 seconds! :)

Sent Jerry a message but he confirmed that it had nothing to do with his changes and that it is the connection here.

It started yesterday afternoon and all other sites (US/other countries) load normally in a couple of seconds so maybe it's a server somewhere in the specific linkage to this site from my residence in Mexico but I don't know. I don't know how to check it because I don't have the faintest idea how the internet works anyway! :)

Until yesterday afternoon it took 5-6 seconds to bring up the site and select/view a post. Now that action takes a minute. Essentially each individual action takes 30 seconds.

I'd sure like to find the issue/correction but Oh well, it's Mexico. :(

Same thing happened to me here also some days ago... V-e-r-y slow for high speed internet!!!

This was happening to me on several (but not all) sites a few years ago. I have a wireless router plus modem. I was advised to power down both, wait 30 seconds, power up the router, then the modem. I was told the reason is that both have buffers and they get out of sync. All I know is that it works for me.

^ same for me... sometimes mine quits working altogether. I turn the modem off and unplug the router for a couple minutes

I can understand the modem thing but wouldn't that make all sites slow, not just one?

BUT today, I'm in San Miguel de Allende, using my laptop and it's fine. SO maybe there was some issue with the routing from Mexico Cty for the site that doesn't exist here. Or maybe whatever it was in Mexico City is OK now there as well. We'll see when I get back there in a few days.

In any case, glad it's working for now!

Well - back in Mexico City and nothing's changed - 30 sec for any action of any kind. Really bizarre. I did the modem reset and the other associated stuff but both the desktop and the laptop do exactly the same thing here in Mexico City.

I have no clue as to what the deal is... :(
