... this week and I am daydreaming about eithrt TR5T (Adventurer) or a 79 T140 Special... any opinions on both bikes? Ant for sale (no projects!) and is it possible to put a disc front end on the TR5T?

Thers two TR5 ish is , I think , . Tialsish , anda ' Daytona ' single carb one , so they say .

Peace of p to fit a Tri Front axle / disc hub , if pre commie ( 75 ) .etc .

V good allrounder , B50 MX with a DAYTONA engine , if you get it right , for a road bike .

Fairly good ground clearance , but still posssible to scrape the pegs ( IF youre MAD ) . :lol: 8)
 
All I can say is, TR5T and T140D are two totally different animals, other than both have 2 wheels, run on gasoline, and make vroom-vroom sounds.

While I don't personally do much highway riding on my 'D, I have a friend that regularly does, and loves it for all day 80MPH runs. I think they are beautiful bikes.
 
Being 79 theyre made by the co##ies ,(workers co-operative ( = freeload of the Govt (14.000.000 pounds (a 'social ' experiment ) ) ) ) . :lol: AND the gear levers on the WRONG side ( various scientific reasons to validate this ) .

SO , apart from the parralel port head , a REAL 73 N.V.T. T-140 is the Real Mc Coy .

Some of the commie ones had the case dies missaligned atrociously , so ONE WOULD LOOK first .
The flah line presents a step on them .Inside & out .AND thyve got PLASTIC :shock: sidecovers :shock: :lol:
 
I think that buying a bike made by a workers co-op would be great! Stopping putting money in CEOs and share holders deep pockets would make me feel good!!! But the T140 I saw was used and abused so this will not happen...

I reaaly hoped this list would not be polluted by the anti"commies" usual stupid / not historically correct remarks...guess it was a mistake!

After trying the triumphs... I am not in love whatsoever: always this "bizzy" feeling: had to be rev to go anywhere. Gosh! the Commando is really the best British bike ever made (OK Tridents are great too!!). I may have decided for something completely different:

Wouldn't it be better to get a Ural? I can only imagine the parts availability for a Dnepr. :shock:
 
If you are mechanically inclined then a 500 Daytona mill in an oil-in-frame BSA B25 [road-bike] is possibly a less expensive option, I did it 30+ years ago, ~40hp/340lb bike, went/steered/stopped nicely with a well set up [big] conical hub set up, but put an oil-cooler on it if you`re going to cane it , those oil-in-frames, dont have enough capacity.Could have done with another gear in the box, but being lighter will accept a taller final ratio, Triumph should v`e done it as an option, also check out the Daytona/Bandit lash-up prototype.
