although still riding my Nortons and Rickman etc I have put 2 years into rebuilding an Indian Velocette. I purchased a complete 90% correct one that needed registering and minor finishing so that I could use it to recognise, make and find all the bits missing from the boxes of bits that I also purchased at the same time. the wreck was the actual bike that was severely damaged in the National bike museum fire in 2003 or 7. it has been a very complicated build but is now finished, I am writing the story of the build, and have loads of pictures and must also be worthy of most of an ANORAK with the knowledge learnt during this time, having only built one complete bike before, my Mk 111 Rickman Bonny, I now realise how nuts it was to try this, but I am really pleased and proud of what I achieved, finding all those old apprenticeship skills and learning new ones. just shoot me next time please. if I can I will post a couple of finished pictures. just tried pictures but need to play with it. maybe not right membership

Not sure which is worse: Enfield Interceptor rebuild, Rickman Enfield rebuild or Indian Velo
rebuild! I've done the first two and may the Almighty prevent me from trying the third!
Very much interested in your story.

Sounds like a ton of fun!

Pix when you're able...
I keep trying to read how to upload pictures. technical keeps saying not available, can't find this "first post" where it is supposed to be. I understand it's easier if a VIP member (not sure how) but not sure if my usage at the moment justifies it. photobucket not used anymore.

You need to have pics uploaded to some other image hosting site (I used pbase.com in past but there are many others) and then just put a link here to see them without being vip. With vip, you just upload directly in your posts, I use the "Attach files" button to do that.

This is the one I use, its free and easy
When you upload a picture to that site copy the "BB Coded Direct URL" option in the share codes and paste to your message here

It's very simple. Go to the link provided, register as a user, upload the photos you want to share, then copy the BB Coded Direct URL into your message.

I've heard a few Americans using that term, but never really clear what is means. Does it equate to "Gagging" in English parlance?

If you are referring to “jonesing” it means a strong craving akin to what a drug addict would experience during withdrawal.

Thx for posting pix. Are those RE Interceptor USA handlebars?

Thanks Spiermoor for posting. I am sure they were from Royal enfield but don't know what model. in the months of research they are what I found, parts on these bikes were used on Ducati Scrambler, Airemacci & Harley, other Ducatis, Laverda, MotoGuzzi Velocette etc

Looks like a very clean and comfortable motorcycle to ride. Excellent work putting it back together with your personal touch on some upgrades.

I have only ridden this round the block once due to weather and now salted roads. I do have another one which will be getting sold at some point. that is brilliant to ride and is very quick considering its only a 500cc, but when stopped the frame is very wide by the tank so I could do with a few more inches in the leg.
