went for a ride this arvo,,,rode around for about an hour and everything fine,,,stopped to watch a cricket match for a few minutes (bike still running) while iddleing noticed smoke from right exhaust it seemed to go under revs,,still there when i got home when iddleing,,is it rings or something else,,,doesnt seem to have lost any commpression has anyone any ideas...

Hm, I'm in process of waiting to fine out my self. Smoke on low throttle implies valve guides while on throttle implies rings, but a head gasket can do either. First thing is just re-torque head. Next thing is hillbilly tune up, roar on up to hi rpm in each gear. 3rd thing might be a leak down test and listen for air escape for sense of what area ain't holding oil back well. I've had mine stop smoking for an interval then reappear worse on the other side, ugh. 4th is take down to inspect or just renew valve seals and rings, then head guides if the ea$ier attempts don't do it. For better or for worse eh.

Or maybe right side pilot circuit got something in it. Doesn't take much. Or turn the pilot screw out to see if it clears and resync carbs as needed.

This does beg the question of what carbs your are running? If single carb, return to hobot response.

Zinc oxide white crust like on sport coaches noises can form just sitting around. No solvent can touch Zn-oxide, only physical removal. Check air filer sealing as I think I got some ring oil smoke for a while running with unknown air box boots slipped off the carb throat seal. Put em back and smoke cleared up for a while - then long trip w/o a 4tj or 5th re-torque flapped the copper gasket to death. Smoked on RH bad for some minutes till hwy speed then cleared up for mere hints of smoke - but now so bad I thinks it fouling plugs or oil detonating for misfiring on fairly high throttle. Watiting on Wes to show up with a leak down tester before opening up to the cases and re-doing sealing attempts, again. I've got some Comet or Bon Ami to dust into intakes to help seal the rings if needed. Even better if mixed in water sparyer to de-coke at same time.

head gasket is slightly leaky,maybe the problem.

buggered if i know Hobot,,started the bike this morning and no smoke at all when running at low revs,,,, seems to be ok now ,,maybe some crap went through the system ???????????
