Smiths Speedo with trip counter

Yes the 1973 on Commandos often had Veglia instruments which had a trip meter and the 850 Mk3 Smiths speedo also had a trip meter.

Can you post a photo of a Smiths w/trip?
I can, but it was converted from a Triumph/BSA speedo.

I wondered how they dealt with the trip numbers and the Green Globe...
maybe best to have a Triumph core refaced.
A bike without a trip meter is such a bother.
Thanks for help.

Norton used Veglia on the Interstates so that there was a trip odometer. A lot of folks found them pretty inaccurate. Many switched over to using gauges from a Triumph during the NVT days as they are the same calibrations. I've set up a few this way for people.

I had a refurbished one converted and sold on my original. I had the existing mileage of my original one dialled onto the replacement.
The trip meter has been a Godsend when doing long European trips, especially with a Roadster tank.
