Hello, a question for the featherbed guys.

I am after some rear shocks to replace my OEM on the 650. It just rides so well now that the shocks definitely have room for improvement!

Ikons appear not to be available in the UK? Can anyone tell me of a UK supplier?

Previously:

Anyone tried/ used the adjustable Hagons? (I have standard Hagons on the 750, but they are not the best. Ok for the money. Maybe)

Maxtons are probably overkill and pricier than i want, but can anyone give me an opinion on these for a featherbed? Are they adjustable for compression and rebound damping? Price...??

Previously had Falcons (non adjustable) and liked them. Any experience of adjustable Falcons? In the absence of anything else/ input/ ither info i think I will go for non adjustable Falcons...

Thanks in advance for any info, I know there are featherbed guys here who have been down this path already, so looking for options before spending the pennies!

Can’t tell any difference between the Emgo shocks and the Hagons when they were working.

Had to narrow the eyes down a bit by filing.

Don’t know if they sell them in the Slimline length.

From IKON:

We are supplying the UK directly these days. The cost of a pair of 7610’s (chrome body and black springs) is AUD$720.00 including shipping. I cannot comment definitively about how things work at the UK end but we have been told by some customers that the shocks have been delivered without additional costs. You might want to investigate how it works at your end before ordering.

AUD 720 is about 390 GBP....

Am quite tempted, but dont fancy additional import duties....

The risk is:

Duty & Tax Charges

Duty: 10.35 GBP (Rate of 2.7 %)

VAT: 78.72 GBP (Rate of 20 %)

Total: 89.07 GBP

Hmmmm. £500 shocks...

NJB Andy? Norman is really helpful & builds shocks to suit you. Haven't used him for a while as I've been lucky picking up Falcon shocks.

Thanks Chris, yes an option, thanks for the reminder, will look at prices etc.

And that reminds me- NJBs are what is on the Rotary, and they look good, but I havent actually ridden that yet....!

From Hagon:

We make a shock range called a 2820 with adjustable damping (similar to the old Koni Dial-a-ride) which ordinarily run inverted with the body up, but for the wideline and slimline frames we could build differently internally so they can run the conventional way up allowing the required clearance around the chain and sprocket area (as ordinarily the spring would be much further down the body due to being upside down.

Available in a traditional steel black painted body as below (£276.00 a pair including vat- 2-week lead time)

Also available in a hand welded polish stainless version (£368.00 and a 4- week lead time)
