Hi:
Minor problem with my 1962 Norton Dominator 650SS.
The front footrests are secured onto a rod / spindle with threaded ends, (I believe part number 06.7637). On my bike a previous owner installed a non correct, fully threaded rod, presumably from his local hardware store. I decided it would be a good idea to replace with the correct, (and presumably much stronger) partially threaded rod. I purchased a rod (06.7637) from a reputable supplier, It measures 10 3/4", but for my bike it is too short, needs to be approx 3/4" longer! At least one other vendor's written specs state the correct length is 10 3/4". The footrests appear to be correct. Currently I'm a bit mystified regarding what I must be missing / do not understand?
Has anyone come across anything similar?
Thank you!
