New pipe? Here's a tip. Tune the bike with the old pipe, if you have the option, particularly the timing. Many a new pipe have been blued (scared) for life after a restoration by having the first start up in a lean condition.
Much wisdom is attained through foolish mistakes.

Just to be safe, leave the timing a degree or 2 retarded, Pilot screw 1/4 turn in and sneak up on it with the new pipe. The bigger pipe may increase flow encouraging a lean state.Snorton74 said:[Thanks for the tip. Luckily I still have those pipes.
