Hi all just wondered if anyone else is experiencing the same internet explorer error I have encountered since the new form. It doesen't happen every time I enter the site however so far at least have a dozen times when viewing the form my computer gives a pop up which says "internet explorer has encountered an error and must shut down this program" and bumps me off the site. This has not happened before the revised form nor does it happen else where. I check the form ever day and this has be happening over the last couple weeks anyone? Tks Doxford

I've had that happen occasionally with IE 7 & 8, but it's not been a problem on this website as far as I can remember?

Are you using IE7 or IE8, as IE8 seems to recover the web page rather than close down the browser window?

You could try changing your "Browsing History" settings (Tools>Internet Options-General>Settings). Or you could try deleting "cookies" and "temporary Internet files" (Tools>Internet Options-General>Delete = "Cookies" & "Temporary Internet Files") unless anyone knows of a better alternative?

If that doesn't clear the problem, you could try using either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers instead of IE7/IE8?

I prefer to use Firefox. Haven't had any issues, although there was a recent version of the Flash plugin that was crashing Firefox. There's a new version of the plugin available now that fixes it.

Too many security issues with IE for my comfort...

My son is an MSCE and when I told him of the problems I was having (just like Debby's description) after "upgrading" from IE6 to IE8, his comment was "IE8 is only just out of beta testing, don't touch it for at least 6 months".

I solved the issue by downloading a new IE7 copy and saved to file. I then went into Control Panel "Add/delete programs" and deleted IE8. When you save IE7 to file, it puts a temporary icon on the desk-top. Once IE8 is gone, install IE7 from that icon.

I haven't had that "found something wrong and have to shut down" message since. With IE8 it was several times a day. and on many different web-sites. You have to go through the "save IE7 before dumping IE8" routing because Microsoft considers it a retrograde step to try and over-write IE8 with IE7 and won't permit it.
