Just saw a photo of an old Triumph with a single seat that looked really good. Has anyone ever put a single seat on their Commando? Any pics to share? Just wondering what it would look like. Thanks.

I put on a Corbin "gunfighter" single seat about 15 years ago.
I think it cost about $250 then, I believe Corbin continues to sell this for the Commando.
Anyway, it looks really good, perfect shape, nicely styled. And, hard as a rock.
I have had two other Corbins on bikes, the foam got hard after a couple years.
I don't care because a long ride for me is only 40 miles nowadays.
I do have a couple pictures of it on my Commando, I need to go to the board index and figure out
how to create an online picture account to download them to, and then be able to show here.
Anyway, my guess is a number of people here have solo seats, and will post some pictures.

I currently have the Corbin gunfighter on my Commando. I was thinking more in terms of a solo saddle with the rear fender left exposed.

This is a 73 Commando 750 with a Corbin seat. Looks good, but the seat is really hard.

Hmm... Maybe that's why it wouldn't start! That picture was taken before the bike was finished. (Hey, you guys are observant!!)

I cannot stop looking at these black beauties. The black Commando with the Corbin seat has to be the most beautiful machine going. And Roadscholar's, oh my goodness. He has been up close and personal with his ride. I had a black one once but it did not run like my little red caboose so I offed it.

Greetings,
On Colorado Norton Works home page there is an Orange Norton with the type of solo seat that you are asking about. I think there are other photos of it in their gallery section.

I don't see any difference. Well, except the seat got longer...

Main difference was that I did away with the saddlebags.

...and the forks

...and the tank

...and the pipes

...and the sissy bar

...and the cruiser pegs

Well, I kept most of the engine, anyway...

Was the oil bag worth saving? That seat would bring $1000 on ebay for those bobber nutjobs...

Here is mine with its single seat. Bit different from the Corbin Gunfighter.

You could probably get your girlfriend on that seat too. If she has a small enough butt.

Just don't let your wife catch you.

I put a Corbin on a few years ago and like it very much. I like the firmness of it (some people find them too hard) and I like the lower seating position. Feels like I am more a part of the bike rather than being perched on top.

I agree with you, Tpeever. I use a Corbin on my Roadster and find it much more comfortable than that ironing board that Norton called a seat. I also could never fit the Roadster with factory pegs and a stock seat. To sit where I can shift without lifting my foot to change gears or apply the rear brake I was in the middle of the seat. Riding two-up was terrible. And I only have a 31 inch inseam length! The Corbin puts me back further similar to the riding position with the Interstate tank and seat.

I have the earlier version Corbin, so swapping back to the original seat is a one minute job, but it hasn't been on it for years. My passengers take one look at the stock Roadster seat and decide they want to take the Interstate!

Hi All,

I had a corbin seat for a few years with my Roadster tank. At 6ft tall I felt a bit cramped. It was comfortable though. Now with my Interstate tank that i will always keep on this commando the stock seat was terrible. So I had this seat made to suit my size and comfort level and I could not be happier ( I know it is not a single seat, so should probably not post here, but since I am forum admin thought it would be ok Haha):
