The Togas are not quite as "blatty" as the the stock ones on my Combat but I have used them for the last 6-7 years and I like them fine.

There was a time in the early '70s when our local dealer was supplying very restrictive peashooters that just killed the power. These were not the original straight through fluted type. We had to drive a large metal stake through a small disk about 2-3" down from the back of the muffler. The stake knocked it out completely. After that you could look down through it and it worked great. (Note: This was not the mute. The mutes were a diameter reducing piece inserted into to the back tip of the muffler and held with a self tapping screw that went through a hole in the muffler. They required 200 main jets and really killed the power. They came in a little white drawstring bag with jets included when I got the bike. Also the super rare (now) power plug was in there! )

Are you talking about this one?

It came on my S and assume it was original since the bike was only 2 years from the dealer when I got it with 4K on it. Sump trap at 13K kind of authenticated that too.

I liked the sound of them and didn't notice lack of power, but had nothing to compare it to. I currently have the Wassals and I think they sound a bit raspy at the higher revs sound fine at low speeds. They are straight through and you can see the flutes inside the pipe. Only thing is the needle and main jet were sized to richer than by the book, but it always ran fine and is now too.

My neighbor's trophy wife thinks they sound cool though, and that counts for something.

Had 1 1/2" Togas on my MKIII and liked them, nice sound, looked good. Better than the budget pipes I had before.
