Just wanted to drop a line about scams. I recently placed an ad in the wanted section of this website for a Mk2a left side cover. I received an offer to sell me the part, but he had no pictures, no Paypal account, no other parts, and wanted me to send him the money via Western Union. When he gave me a follow up email to see if I was sending him the money, I replied I thought it was a scam and have not heard anything since. Just wanted to let you know that predators are looking at the wanted ads. I still need the cover if anyone has one they want to sell, or a set. Thanks.

Same thing happened with me with a belt drive out of the UK,advertised on here, i realised when he said it had done 75,000 km and a 'friend of his was a professional Norton motor builder', I made the guy ring me, but there was no return phone number and the pics he sent me were out of a catalog of a new one. Also wanted money first , no paypal etc.
He was very adamant about the money thing, which didn't sit well with me
Regards Mike

I suggest members do not include their e-mail address in their ads. (or even in a forum post) as that makes it easy for bogus buyers/sellers to respond.
