hi every body
i want to know if the serial number 124191 , seems to be a norton commando 1969 type : S
where can i find this information ?
thanks

Roy Bacon, Norton Twins Restoration book says the first production 750 Commando was 126125. Looks like your number is from a '68 Atlas. Is the number preceeded with a 20 (Atlas) or 20M3 (Commando)?

124191 would put it in the P11 era, after Aug 67 (123364) but before Jan 68 which started with 124372, the P11A.

69S

Commando production commenced from 126125 in April 1968, therefore 124121 cannot be a Commando number but is probably an Atlas or P11 model number.

the owner of this norton say:

IN the 1960s NORTON owned MATCHLESS ....NORTON used up MATCHLESS parts to build NORTONS ....THIS is a G15CS # ....There is nothing written in stone when it comes to many old BIKES >>>I've seen exceptions in > TRIUMPH , BSA , NORTON , HARLEY & the list goes on ....

The numbers/letters preceeding the VIN give an indication of the model it belongs to such as below. What is in front of your VIN?
20 = Atlas
20M3 = Commando

OK, well, if it was already known to be a Matchless G15CS, why did you think it could be an S type Commando? If it is a Matchless G15CS hybrid then the engine will be a 750 Atlas.
