ANYONE RESEALED THEIR FIBERGLASS TANK. MINE IS GETTING A RASH OF BUMPS ALL OVER LIKE IT IS ALLERGIC TO THE NEW FUELS. I MAY HAVE PUT A SPOT OF TCP IN IT AT ONE TIME BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER.
I CALLED POR15 AND THEY SAY THEIR STUFF IS NO GO FOR FIBERGLASS.

I got the bumps and a leak last year after doing the Bill Hirsch linner. It lasted two seasons so it wasn't a total loss. The linner is still holding up in most of the tank. I had an unseen thin spot that the gas found it's way through once it did, melt down time. It dosn't help that this was a Norvil Fastback repro tank they are very supseptible to gas as we now know it. I have no problem with the product it's just so hard to know that you have a good coating on every part of the tank because you can't see everything. It's holding gas right now up in the front part of the tank but if I rock it to the rear it finds this unseen hole in the linner. Bill says I can remove it with paint stripper and try again. I may sometime but for now I found an Atlas tank and had Ross Thomas covertit to Commando sytle. I took a month of time cleaning a preping this tank for the linner with long dry times and all and it was disapointing to say the least to do all that work and have it blow out in the third season. norbsa

norbsa,
Wow that's too bad about your tank. I still have the Hirsch kit I bought last year for my black tank and have been planning to use it on my blue tank. Guess I'd better be careful when doing it and hope for the best.

ace,
Since you're in the bay area why not go over to Ken Armann's shop and let him take a look. He lined my black tank for me last summer and so far, so good <fingers crossed>
