SCS Delta 400 Users Group

I now have two maps for the DynoJet PCV setup. Along with the two maps for the Delta400 ECU supplied by SCS .

End of Phase 2 . I now have my 961 back from the dyno shop and I am very happy with the results. My increases match so to speak Clive's results , meaning I ended up with about 3 more HP on top. This may not sound like much but it is nice to have it. The bike also feels smoother too , and pulling strongly to the rev limiter in top gear (5th stock 18/50 gearing) .
So to re-cap , I am Running K&N clamp on filters and De-cat X-pipe , and Norton Short /loud mufflers. I have the Delta 400 ecu with latest SCS Norton 961 Race Cans map and a DynoJet PCV tuned at the Dyno Shop. When I got there , I made 65.8 HP at 7390 RPM now 69 HP at 7280 RPM. The gains come in at 3500 RPM and all the way up .

That's fantastic.

Some ECU for dummies questions to follow, this is all new to me.
Have managed to install the .bin file update from SCS, a reassuring first step.
City Garage has kindly sent the latest map, my thanks again, so checking a few things before i install that.
The snip below shows what is currently in the ECU (it has been on my shelf for some time)

Does the ECU only hold the 1 map at a time? So i need to "Load Cal to Ram" (bottom button on the snip) if i want to save the existing one before installing the new?
In my emails with SCS i had asked for a copy of each of the peashooter and shortie maps with the ECU in case i want to swap exhausts, hence wondering if there is another option in there somehwere. We traded a number of emails before i orderd so that request could easily have fallen by the wayside.

I’ve not actually played with mine much, so will have to check, BUT typically, one map will be active at a time. Some ecu’s havecrge ability to support several maps....switching maps is essentially what you are doing when you switch riding ‘modes’ on a modern bike, so rain Mode vas Road mode etc. Let me have a read and report back. In the meantime someone might chip in!

Thanks. I’d made pdf’s of the manuals and skim read them but haven’t read every word in them.

Do not do Load to RAM to save current file . As Vernon said Save your current Map to File first and name it something you will remember . You can then load it again at some point in the future. When you load the newest map I remember that it may ask you to turn off key and then back on again.
The biggest change in the latest SCS Delta 400 map is to the Idle area. It is much steadier but a bit higher on my bike say from 1200 to 1250 rpm. You can do a file compare and that's what I did . It showed that it had a difference in the idle area. If you do this and it shows no difference you may have the latest already. Your cover page matches mine except I have a Date of Aug 2020 . The entire BIN file is 415Kb , but the map is small only 28Kb . The bin file fixed our side stand issue , but that was early on. You probably already have the new bin and map. Do a map file compare and check. OK I see you already said that you installed the new Bin file , ok good.

The ECU may hold more than one map , But I have never done this or know how . I am not sure how you would switch between without using the OBD2 plug , cable , switch etc.. Clearly this ECU can do a lot more than this bike uses !

Thanks Gents, i should have been more patient and read more carefully.

The ECU in my car project can have several maps loaded and has provision for an external dash switch...possibly mounted discretely...to switch between them. Not sure on the SCS...will have to have a read!

I tried the ctrl S and that just seems to save the data on the current screen so I decided to just load the City Garage provided map and have fired the bike up. Happy days :)
Have also sent SCS a query on accessing the peashooter map, assuming it is there somewhere.

The only pin I see that could be used is this user configurable pin 17, but I don't see an option to use it to switch maps.....but there seems to be provision for alternate maps

looks like this is the icon you need to save the current .cal:

See what SCS say, but I think you may well need them to send you the original map.

We found the latest map works on any "open" exhaust w/o cats.

Thanks, the save icon is a bit obvious in hindsight I suppose.
Good news re the map applicability. I have muddied the waters a bit by putting the cat back on but the plan is to hit the dyno when I can.

Excellent news! Knew we would muddle though!

So, is there some secret handshake I have to learn now, or is it not that kind of club?
