I needed some pictures for the insurance man so I thought I'd post em. Nothing special but she's my baby. She has been ignored for over 20 years but she is back on the road now. I was pleased to find this board and the wealth of information. Best of all, I discovered I was 5 miles down the road from Dan C. from MNOA. I did what I could and then handed it off to Dan. We rolled it out of the famous "swamp" and snapped a couple of pics the other day. Another Norton back on the road.

Thanks. It's as original as the day I bought it 1974, execpt for the rearsets that I always wanted. It replaced '73 Interstate with a bent frame which replaced a yellow '69 Scrambler which I wish I still had.

I suspect it started it's life as a Roadster and had the tank and seat added at some point. Rearsets are almost a necessity with the Interstates. Good choice.
 
Nice bike, check the direction of your front tyre before you start riding it, you might need that insurance man.

That's exactly it. The headers and sidecovers off the '73 750 Interstate were too damaged. Herb at Flint Indian just put my tank and seat on a roadster. He also titled it as a "75. You had to know Herb. :roll:

That lift is a cheapy from good 'ol Harbor freight. It wasn't much more than 50 bucks on sale.

I don't get what you mean and the bike isn't here for me to go look.

And the rear one? Are they Avon AM26 Roadriders? Check the "direction of rotation" arrows on both, as they both look as if they could have been fitted the wrong way around?

They look like AVON ROADRIDERS to me, if they are the tread pattern shouldn't be going in the same direction, the front looks wrong to me, check the direction of rotation arrows .
 
Yes they are roadriders. I spent an inordinate amount of time explaining to the guy who mounted them that the disc brake was on the right.
Well good catch, thanks alot......... I should have waited for Dan to mount them.

btw..... these roadriders are ten times the tires I had on there from the 80's.
 
Fantastic Bike.

Dan does great work. He worked on mine as well. It's to bad he's afraid of computers or he would be a huge value to this forum.
 
I just love the Interstate tank.. I hope I can dig one up for my bike someday..

On another note, my bike has the tires on completely incorrectly. Front tire is on the rear rim, rear tire is on the rear rim, and both are the wrong direction.. lol. At least they're new tires, eh? I'll get them switched around before I start riding her, but wow..it's hard to believe people pay so little attention when they mount tires..
