Hi, my interstate is coming along very slowly, but I am making progress! I am about to try my hand at rebuilding my 34mm Mikuni on my 73 850 and need some advice on jetting. ML posted a very helpfull reply to an prior post in which he recomended the following-
Main jet 240
Needle jet P2 or P4
Needle 6DH3 or 6DH4
Pilot jet 30-35
Air jet 1.0
Slide 3

However I see form his post that he is from Melbourne which I think is close to sea level?
I live at 2100 feet and was wondering if the above jetting would still be good? This will be my first time working on a carb so I need all the advice I can get. Thanks, Gabe

I don't think you'll notice much at 2100 ft. I'd try it as you have it and see if you have problems.

It should be good if you go with the leaner options for the needle jet and needle.....

I am at 3000' and have run the Mikuni, on an unmodified 850, as supplied for sea level. The spark plugs looked fine, so the mixture was obviously in the ball park.

If you want to be certain, you could make a pass or two on the dyno. Look for about 12.5:1 on a full throttle pass and about 14.5:1 at your cruising speed/RPM
