Who do you guys think does the best work repairing the exhaust threads on an 850 Commando 1974. I checked MAP Parts and they will thread the exhaust for the new inserts for $134. plus $35. each for the inserts. A grand total of about $200. bucks. One of my exhaust threads is fairly stripped and the other is in perfect condition. May as well have them both done at the same time to save money and later headache don't ya think??? Any advise on the best place to have it done would be appreciated. Hope I don't have to take out a second mortgage before I can finish the bike---Thanks--Mark C.

Mark, That is by far the best price I have heard. If that's for a pair. Don't fix it if it is not broke. This repair is not seen and does not make any thing better. The only advantage would be that the nuts would fit as a pair. The nuts vary so much in size by type that when most of the good guys do them they ask that you send along the ones your using. So than the question becomes will Map let you send the nuts you are using and make sure they are a match new to old.
