renew cylinder head fixings

Hi all, has anyone ever renewed their head bolts one at a time with the head still on, I know some people on here have stated they back the bolts off before re torquing, at which point what would be the harm in sticking in a new fixing?

No problem at all IMHO.

If I cd afford that fancy head fastener kit with waisted bolts from CNW (and if they supplied the stock sizes), that's how I wd do it, for sure.
