This is for my 68 p11 ranger, I bought this and the wiring from the battery was missing. Does the positive from the battery go to the bolt (through bolt) on the rectifier? also where does the negative from the battery attach,? is it the tab on the rectifier?

Hi, welcome. Provided it's original, still positive earth, yes. The negative wire goes to the ignition switch. Free download wiring diagrams are available for Commando, I would assume P11 as well.

thanks for the info, since the neg goes to the ignition switch there are 3 prongs, since the inside and outside prong are operated by the switch then it would go to the middle prong?

If it's like an early Commando, there's one terminal on the ign switch that goes to the bat neg. The other 2 are hooked together and go to the ignition coils and other circuitry. A lot of the early electronics is not switched from the ign like the headlamp. Just look at the 60-70 Commando circuit. Let me know if you need to find the circuit, I can supply one or get you to one.
