Re: Did I touch a nerve?

I did say on very tight and twisty B roads - country lanes round Shropshire with very few fast straights.

Of course get on more open roads and their leagues apart - just talking about below 70mph where theres no straights to speak of to use the 916's power

I think you got it just about right Mike.
I did the IAM advanced riding course recently using the Commando and everything went fine.
Last Sunday I went with a ride with a few from the Solent Advanced Motorcylists and the Mk111 did not digrace herself. Two of the riders were RoSPA instructors and the rest, like me, IAM green badges. These guys don't hang about, and a couple of them remarked at the lunch stop "how well that old Norton goes"
I was out in the lanes and twisties in company with a couple of Hinckley triples, a Honda sportsbike (don't know which model) and a 12GS BMW. They didn't have to wait.
On the straight there's no doubt they would blast me away, but that ain't where the fun is.

" I used to go to work on a bike (we now have a dog, so it is more difficult!)" (quote)

does anyone else take there dog on their bike? i have a jack russell who has seemed very interested in my bike. (greeting me on my long drive and running along side, tail wagging, so.........i strapped a kennel crate on the back and she is a true rider! maybe the fastest jack russell around. 80 mph so far :p a wave to all, no matter which bike you may be riding.

Yeah, Jerrome, post a pic.....and I'm jealous, because here in California we have a "dog helmet" law, requiring all K9 riders or passengers to wear little DOT doggie helmets.....

yes, i will post a pic. my sweetheart is off to the coast and has our digital, so as soon as she returns........a doggie helmet law???????now i have heard of everything. idaho is still no helmet, about the only thing pro choice in this red state. oh sorry, no politics. thanks for your interest mike and spub
