Guys
Rebuild rear wheel hub assy with all new parts..all going well until I tried to wind in the speedo drive lock nut (yes I know it's L/H).... it will screw in 2/3 threads and then lock up which suggests it's the wrong thread/pitch.
Screwed in the old one ...straight in no problem.Spoke to AN and they swapped it for another nut for the 72 model..... wound it in it's exactly the same
Yes I have thread gauge but I'm away on holiday touring the Lake District so I can't confirm old against new.. has anyone else encountered this issue

Thank you

Hi, is your hub the cush drive on or the bolted one , just because the PO could had fit an earlier rear wheel/hub to your 72 (cush)........! otherwise , no clue!

The speedo drive lock ring is the same part number (06-0317) for both bolt up and cush drive hubs.

yes there are 2 different threads , the early bolt up is a fine thread.

You could use the old nut as a thread gauge on the new one.

There are a few "dings" in the old one and as it will be exposed as no angle drive is being fitted I would prefer to replace .....if the price was reasonable, this isn't reasonable so the old one will be suitably linished and coated in ACF 50
