Please excuse my use of this photo but where can I get an exhaust system like this. I know Maney use to sell a tuned racing exhaust but i no longer see them available there.

Thank you,
Pete

I contacted Steve quite a while ago and he defiantly had ceased to produce them. Unfortunately I got a Viking system instead.

Hi

Last time I spoke to Steve they were on the to do list but his specialist welder had left the company.
NRP do a similar system (as most people do cos it works)
It is the connector between the two pipes & the silencer which seems to be the main difference between the Maney pipe & copies. Martin (Minnovation) & Steve work closely together (they used to race in the same team) Martin has sold a few Commando Seeleys recently, so he must have some?
They are listed on his website.

NRP will make you a system around your bike...I am booked in to have one made for my Rickman....I am not sure they do one 'off the shelf' for a Commando, but they certainly have made systems like the one shown, which is similar to the one on Dave Watsons 1007 Seeley except that has a race can to meet ACU rules, not the megaphone. They work in stainless, not mild steel.

Silly question, why do all the high level 2 into 1s go on the left side?, way back when we used low level exhausts the went on theh right which made sense to avoid the chain line....

You are like a broken record on this, we have heard the tale at length - time to move on.

Hi, the exhaust system in question was made by Murray Chamberlain at cyclecraft engineering perth western australia, see the link to murrays Facebook page on the post by mark f, it was made by hand using sand bending , hook and spring coupling ,aluminium heat shield ,ceramic coating, stainless exhaust nuts. i spoke to murray today and if there was enough interest he may consider making a small batch, cheers peter nelson

I made my own two into one exhaust which goes under the motor. You always have a problem getting the header pipe lengths right when you use the large loop left hand header. If the pipe goes under the motor, you then have a problem accessing the sump plug. So whichever way you go, it is difficult. I used the side mounted pipe on my Triumph years ago - the heat shield was inadequate and my boot gave me a second degree burn. If it is under the motor, you can still access the carbs when the pipe is hot. A two into one exhaust pipe is worth the trouble on a commando.

Kelly George's proven pipes on hopped up '74 850 which mainly operates at WOT even going slow, so may not be enough with dual carbs.

The last time I spoke to Steve via email earlier in the year, his last few sets of 2 into ones went to Minnervation.

I was not smart enough to play with separate pipes and megaphones before making the two into one pipe. Generally what happens is you lose a bit off the top and add it to the middle. Unless the pipe is restrictive beyond the collector, then you lose a lot everywhere.
