Questions on the other Norton - V4SV

I've just sent those pics to John, as he didn't have them.
Yeah it was a shame tbh. They had a dream team with regards riders....it all looked great on paper. But, the team was still very fresh faced when compared to others at the TT...and they also obviously had major funding restrictions. The bolt head failing on John's bike, spotted as he exited the goose next was unfortunate. The bolt didn't come loose, it failed. The same bolts were used on the production bikes, with the stock of them being pulled from use immediately. It wasn't safety critical, it was just a lower engine mount.
The Superlight, imo, did very well considering it was essentially a bikes first outing whilst still in development. Hicky obviously thought the potential was there, as he ploughed a lot of his own money into one after the 2019 TT, in preparation for 2020.....to be told he couldn't run it.

I guess we were all watching that as it unfolded on TV - must have been cool to be there in person though, seeing the bike blast around the circuit - the noise on the straights was epic!

Guess we’ll never know what Hicky could have done on the Superlight! But if anyone could have had success it was certainly him.

I wasn't at the TT that year, and I was never at the TT with the race team.....I think I was too opinionated to be allowed on it by the race team manager 😂

That’s a real pity - that would have been an awesome experience! You were involved with the bike development though; don’t lose the pictures, those sort of memories all but disappear with time.

I was delighted when they announced the V4SV. Would swap my first born for one of those in the garage; might even put it in front of the 961!!!

Yep, being opinionated can certainly get you in trouble:rolleyes:!
