So while shopping online today, i realized the pipes on my 73 750 are the belled MKIII style, without a cross pipe. Here's a photo of the three pieces that came out when i took it apart, the collet's i know, but whats the other part? Is it OK to use this style on a 750, with 750 nuts, and the collets? or should i buck up and buy some new 750 style pipes (i was looking online because mine are a bit worn out looking, when i noticed mine were "wrong")

I've been using the 1975 style header and mount setup for years without the exhaust nut ever coming loose on my 1974!

Bob,
are you using the shorter 850 exhaust nut? i have a brand new set of the 750 nuts, and i feel like they're too long for this setup (i bought them not knowing any better thinking, hey i've got a 750!)
