Hobot, keep doing what you do and I for one want to hear all about it. With pictures.

I second that. I also want to hear about Steve's colourful adventures with his Commandos, so keep those pictures and videos coming!

Maybe a pic of hobot in the process of doing the feet up figure of 8 donut he suggests he can easily do, would be more appropriate? Thats a pretty difficult move, and he needs respect if he is actually able to pull it off!

It's really easy for you to put sh*t on other people but you can't even tell us what bike you own and ride. I suspect you've never even ridden a Commando, let alone own one.

Hobot, keep doing what you do and I for one want to hear all about it. With pictures.

Not putting sh#t on anyone............hobot's posts suggest he is a talented stunt rider, and just thought it would be interesting to see some video of one of the more difficult moves on a bike!

Deer, goats, THE Gravel, bakerlite front tyer lock up skids, crashes on a corner, broken axel, rebuilds, bullet holes, roads, rides, trips, pictures, etc, etc. ALL with videos! What more do you want.

Carbonefibulator,
Not to put SHIT on anyone, but for the longest time I thought you were Moammar Gadhafi but those hopes were dashed in these texts.
Maybe Joaquin Phoenix? I heard he can be quite the "ass hole". How about Marilyn Manson?...More like Charles Manson.
A bloody loony you are!
:D

Ha hobot is definitely an involuntary stunt rider no matter how easy I intend and try to ride I'm faced too dam often by surprise hazards so now try to routinely upset traction and handling to get some reflexes for avoidance or injury recovery.

So far on Trixie had to thread the needle between postal truck and painted road edge line going 60 around a down hill bend I was lagging behind Harley parade that passed the driveway before postal truck began to pull out but very very slowly...

So on purpose take sweepers at full speed as close to the paint edge as I can and not touch it while leaned over w/o head hanging out into oncoming flyers.

then pulled off hwy in worse tight off sloped 270' hook I do daily [way way way wierder than the peg pogo spot] to instantly feel the isolastics isolation dissapear till rim hit the pavement and squirrel rear around at 50 mph, then road it home like a bucking bronco with a shoe missing on a rear leg...

So I on purpose practice with half aired tires.

then routine slips slides and skip out going up/dn/around THE Gravel ...

So I on purpose play with short over powering of rear to skip skew and slide a bit.

then routine braking strain with both tires about locking up on loose steeps...

So on purpose practice locking and not falling down immediately.

On purpose try to see how far apart I can get SV650 and Ms Peels tires in crossed up turns but no way dare practice that on purpose on a plain Jane Combat as already know its already too late to save one of those corner cripples once its a bit crossed up on THE Gravel or The Grass. Btw SV650 needs rescue recovery once tires about 18 inches apart while Ms Peel will still hook and accelerate over 65 mph with tires almost 2 ft apart. Very easy to measure this by the tracks left in THE Gravel going thru S-Z chicanes on top of Plateau where's its mostly level flying conditions, lined by barbed wire fences right up to edge of the path of course.

Come out Carbon hobot needs a brave biker on capable cycle as camera man I ain't had so far. I must evaluate my stamina before I try to make it to pavement where I can relax except for the sudden extremes to avoid like log truck trailer I'd flashed/waved at but decides to pull across any way so on brake trying not to lock it up and skew my self under truck or off the edge. I hate it and fear it so much so often I am in constant turmoil to keep at this hobby because i know I'll be going down again from my own handling or what fate throws out ahead.

Only thing I care to really fly out of the ordinary is my up and coming Ms Peel.
Goal on her for sprints is to break under 10 sec by blown big block, under 500 lb bike/pilot and tucked down well below factory height, especially in front while wearing a 130 street tire. Of course it may not work as hoped but its fun trying.

If you want to talk real ass holes hows about the president of the US or the UK prime minister?

We could broaden that , to include All Politicians , The United Nations , The Warsaw Pact , Nato , Neuclear phyisits & sit coms , at the drop
of a hat . Not to forget C.A.D. . The place fore a computors After its designed. If they dont know how to do that , A computors not going to
make it any better .

Been trawling the internet to try'n get a Commando doing a standing Quater on U tube . So im tired and grumpy , wots yr excuse , Frank . :D

Y-tube has a few Commando drag video's of both wheelie bar'd and non wheelie bar'd examples. Here's a wheelie bar'd one I just found. But got beat in this heat.

Pure standing start after the burn out tire warm up is adrenalized tremble chemistry to me. A factory Combat will bog on clutch release if not at red line and snapping WOT with the clutch, then its wheelie prone to vertical and beyond. I only got to do this when I was sorta tricked by the locals to ride with them to a "camp out" the 6th day I had pre-Peel Combat and next day awoke to see all the hot shots having at it. So with no intention to get in line I practiced standing starts the 1st times on the hi way to get some half/fast scary wheelies, then a rusted muffler blew off, so took off the other - to feel the power band wake up into red line zone. What i found was Combat torque on 19T sprocket was enough to out leap or keep up with bigger engine bikes till top of 2nd -80's mph but then lack of hp got us left behind. That was summer of '99. Extrapolating this 1000 ft mark out to 1/4 mile implies low-mid 13 sec ET on pre-Peel stock worn loose Combat in my hands. Mediocre but crowd went wild to see/hear the old clunker and me having a go at it.

There was total silence till was helped up from tire fold up wheelie to stand a few seconds, crowd cheered wildly, then I tried to turn to limp off - R knee stuck out my jeans as lower leg bent outward to hit my hip and collapse, could hear a pin drop in their sudden silence again. Am confused now on what tire PSI to try next after duct tapping major joints to contain the pieces.

Here's a neat calculator to play with. It says 500 lb package only needs 102 hp for 9.9 sec 1/4 ET, assuming tire hooks it up of course. 9 sec shows 136 hp need.
If Peel's 920 with Norris D cam can make 80 hp un-boosted then she should have boost power to break under 10 sec. Maney's 920 makes 100 hp @ 7200 but has big valve special head, Peel's just early CHO head with skinny valve stems.

I note the big ole meats on their rears and not lifting front much except for the warm up approach. Sure satisfying to hear how hi they rev em.
